IoT refers to networks of physical objects—such as sensors, meters, cameras, vehicles, and household devices—that collect information and communicate through the Internet. In a smart city, these connected devices create a continuous flow of data that helps public authorities understand urban conditions, coordinate services, and make informed decisions. When implemented responsibly, IoT can make cities more efficient, sustainable, safe, responsive, and comfortable places to live.
